Mila’s Birth Part 1
Mila’s Birth Part 2
As I approached full term I was desperately wanting my pregnancy to wrap up and to meet our son. In the past I have been typically patient, but a few things had happened during the last few months of my pregnancy that were making it near impossible for me to enjoy these final days. A few days before my due date I found myself in a very dark head space. I asked my doula to come over on Saturday morning to talk. I needed to air out my feelings to a safe person. She reminded me that baby would come at the perfect time, and encouraged me to find something to do every day that I would enjoy and take my mind off things. When she left, I was feeling much better and decided to go about my weekend with the mindset that I was not pregnant. (It is very hard to be social and not be reminded constantly that you are very pregnant!) That afternoon my husband, daughters and I went out for sushi. We then decided to call a babysitter over to watch our girls for the night so we could go play cards with some friends.
